Erzurum, with a population of 360,000, is a city located 2,000 meters above sea level and home to one of Eastern Anatolia’s leading ski resorts. It is bordered to the north by the Black Sea with a 59 km coastline, to the east by Kastamonu, to the east and south by Karabük, and to the west by Zonguldak. Its area is 2,143 km². The elevation of the city center is 25 meters.
